Thanksgiving Dinner Looper Style

Bob and Vicki Riggs, veteran loopers and harbor hosts, opened up their home to us to celebrate Thanksgiving Dinner with them in Fairhope, Alabama. Bob and Vicki provided the turkey, ham, and drinks. Any looper in the area wanting to attend needed to bring a side dish. Good food and good times were had by all.

Little Sister Creek to Fairhope, AL

We had a wonderful restful spot for the night in Sisters Creek. We were ready to see Fairhope and get ready for our Thanksgiving Dinner with other loopers.

By the time we made it to Mobile we had passed through several little rain showers.

After we passed this sailboat we ran into a small thunderstorm.

We made it to Fairhope, AL.

Bobby's Fish Camp to MM 29 Little Sister Creek

The morning was a little foggy. We got some motivation to move when The Last Dance motored past us just after 7:30am. 

Coffeeville Lock and Dam was our last lock of our loop!! 

The sun was setting fast and we found a small creek to drop the hook. 

Demopolis Yacht Basin to Bobby's Fish Camp

Our day started with some fog. We left the Demopolis Yacht Basin by 8:00am and had an hour and a half wait for our turn at the Demopolis Lock and Dam. We dropped our hook in Foscue Creek and I cooked up some pumpkin and banana loaf bread to help pass the time. By the time it was our turn there were 4 other pleasure boats in the lock with us.

Our second to last lock was perfectly executed even with a last minute change to a starboard side tie. I am so proud of how far we have come from our first lock. 

The Good Life is slowing down to give us a courtesy pass.

We are always on a sharp lookout for deadheads in the water.

The sun was starting to set and we had 1 1/2 hours left in our cruise. 

We arrived at Bobby's at 6:00pm. The ladies were graciously serving dinner on their day off. All four of us decided to finally give in and try some catfish. All four of us give catfish a thumbs up!
